Temas:

ENSA energy company announced this afternoon that Javier Pariente has resigned as its general manager.

The company said his replacement has not yet been determined.

Pariente has been linked to the scandals involving the National Assistance Program (PAN.) Former PAN Director Giacomo Tamburrelli has mentioned Pariente, a close associate of former President Ricardo Martinelli, in statements he has made to prosecutors investigating irregularities in the program.

"ENSA's Board of Directors and General Manager Javier Pariente decided, by mutual agreement, to terminate the employment relationship," the company said. "ENSA thanks him for his commitment and outstanding management during his 15 years of service to the company."

He was named general manager in 2003, having also served as deputy general manager and managing director.

He is also a former executive vice president of Ricamar, the parent company of Super 99, Martinelli's supermarket chain, and serves on the boards of some 40 corporations with Martinelli or his close friends and family.
