Under strict security, Jaén Cherigo arrived at the DIJ in handcuffs.
According to his lawyer, Alexis Sinclair, the defendant pleaded guilty to causing the death of the 22-year-old.
Jaén Cherigo was arrested Saturday in Las Perlas, Santiago. He had been a fugitive for six days following the accident the previous Sunday in which he allegedly struck and killed Licona while she was riding on Avenida Balboa.
The driver of the car fled the scene of the accident, abandoning the vehicle, which had been rented, on Avenida Mexico. He said he ran from the accident because he was scared.
