Arrocha has emerged as the frontrunner after the caucus was divided between its support for Miguel Salas and Carlos Santana. Salas was the early favorite, but could not garner enough support for the job.
The vote by the Panameñista caucus will be this morning.
According to reports Juan Carlos Arango, Juan Miguel Ríos and Katleen Levy also aspire to the chairmanship of this committee. The lack of consensus within the party has paralyzed the work of the committee.
