Judge sets bonds for Caneto Araúz

The entrepreneur Carlos Caneto Araúz has had two sureties set for his release.

This was confirmed by a judicial source, who added that the bonds were set by the 15th Court of the First Judicial Circuit.

The first bond was granted for $250,000 which is related to the investigation into alleged cost overruns in the purchase of bags of food through the National Assistance Program (PAN).

The second bond was $100,000 and was also set in the 15th Court.

That bond is related to the investigation into the purchase of backpacks.

Although the bail was granted, Araúz was ordered not to leave the country.

He is being investigated by the fourth anti-corruption prosecutor.
